Shannon Slacer, BSc.PT, MSc.PT
Shannon was born and raised in Oakville where she started playing soccer for the Oakville Soccer Club at a very young age. She worked her way through the Rep system and was offered a soccer scholarship to a Division 1 university in Ohio. Playing for the University of Toledo, she helped them win three MAC Championships in a row. Shannon chose the study of Physical Therapy during her undergrad years at University of Toledo and graduated Summa Cum Laude. While competing as an athlete she had met wonderful therapists who supported her throughout her soccer career. This was a field of work she became very familiar with and decided to pursue. She wanted to be able to help others/athletes rehab their injuries and return to their sport safely. Shannon understands an athlete’s personal drive and is able to relate to an athlete’s determination to return to play quickly.
After graduating from Toledo, she went on to further her education at Queen’s University and earned a Master of Science in Physiotherapy. The clinical placements throughout her demanding program in varied environments helped to solidify her passion to pursue physiotherapy as a career. Shannon is thrilled to be back in her hometown to help utilize her treatment skills in the community and assist the active individual return to their highest potential possible.
